My last connection with 'Guzzi was on a trip down to Mugello on my 1050 ST, we were booked to have an overnight on Lake Como after a trip through the Alps and thought a factory visit would be interesting. Couldn't believe the number of bikes on the road but it turned out to be National Day and a public holiday.....pitched up at the factory gates, all locked up, gateman suggested returning an other time! After 1200 miles from Glasgow I was just a little bit miffed.
Pity, cos the museum is supposed to be stuffed full of exotica.
To finish a sad tale, 10 minutes after rolling up to Mugello VR46 did a somersault and broke his leg....bummer. Great trip though and doing Mugello for the third time this year....its a crazy "must do" for race fans.

Thanks I didn't know about that. Must look into and extended sump.

About 7 years ago, a group of us from the forum went to the Guzzi museum whilst in Italy for the EMCA bike show.
The museum was only open in the afternoon, so had lunch then popped along for a looksy.
Fascinating line up of bikes. My favourite is the V8 race bike.

A little closer to home, it’s worth keeping an eye open for when Sammy Miller is showing his Guzzi V8 racer, either at his museum near Ringwood, or at events. The sound it makes is awesome!

Sammy brought the V8 to East Kirkby this year and crackled it around whilst grinning from ear to ear.
