Ducati s4r ecu onto s4rs

Gents got an s4rs that i want to put back to standard exhaust system.
Can i put the race chip and exhaust system onto my s4r?
Could i then put s4r ecu onto the s4rs?
Any advice appreciated

If the S4R is the later Testastretta version then it should be possible, if its the earlier 996 Desmoquattro version of the S4R it may not be possible. The exhaust will not physically fit as they are 2 different engine types.

I don't think so. The S4R has the 996 desmoquattro engine & the S4RS uses the later Testretta engine. Unless they used the same ECU's I would think it unlikely.

Someone will be along shortly to say I am talking bollox.

Yes its a 2005 s4r 996 engine so going by what your saying the exhaust wont fit
And the ecu prob wont either ☹️

The later S4R's had the Testastretta motor and were very similar to the S4RS, but there are very few about, I think the last production year only, most others you see are the DQ 996 type.

Is it a full system you're wanting to swap over? If its just the end cans then they may fit.

The ECU may fit if its the same type, but if it does then I doubt it will work without re-flashing it with the correct maps etc and it will most likely have been coded to the clocks in any case. Which is expensive to wipe out.

Think i will just put a pair of slip on termis on the s4r, will i need to change ecu or will they just slip on and it will run fine?
