always wanted a Monster, never quite got one, but...
For years I always fancied a 900 Monster... I did dabble with a 600 for a while, but its always been my ambition to own an early carb 900... Early 2019 I looked around for one, even put an advert on this forum, but nothing came up that was suitable, I wanted one I could rebuild as a winter project... Then I got sidetracked when a tatty ST4s came up cheap.
Next winter's project is definitely going to be a restoration of an early Monster, just need to find the right bike, but time is on my side... below is the story in pictures of the ST4s winter build... a bit to go yet...here's what I started with. it looks far better in the pictures than it was... it was actually really tatty... 10 out of 10 or that mate..
I like your tool making especially the tube crimping die. I also like the Silver theme. Gold on Silver looks good, but I think you need to bring the disc centres, clutch plate and spring colours together to get the score up to 11, Gold would be nice but all the same colour would be tops. On the rear stay of the (very nice) front mudguard how have you picked up the fastener on the top calliper bolt without upsetting the alignment of the calliper? Turn up to any Monster meet on that and be accepted..

Thanks, I see how you've done the stay now... Planning something along similar lines myself.
I'll shut up about the colours now, you seem to have things under control.. Just so much clever stuff, exquisitely and skillfully executed, it's really difficult not run out of suerlatives... I remain in awe.

It's virtually an S4 Monster. It'll be interesting to see how it compares performance wise without the EFI.
