Performance Direct Insurance....

....has anyone used these before?

I've just had my insurance renewal through and declaring the mods to the bike, carbon bits, exhausts etc, the best I can get with NCB protected is £132. The next most promising is Ducati Insurance at £177 - again with mods declared. Pointless not declaring the mods as it's so easy for the insurance to be deemed null and void if a claim is made....

Given I'm 50 with oodes of NCB I'm sure I can get cheaper somewhere - only proviso is I want some warm noises about service if and when something happens.....for instance....the crash I was involved with in January when in Mrs Nambduke's car....well to put it mildly, Zurich have been absolutely rubbish....so much so I doubt I'd use them again in the future even if they were cheaper than the competition!

Most sites seem to be like 'confused' or 'bikeinsurer' where you punch your details in and they run automated quotes but don't really have the time to spend hours on the phone for a few quid saving. If anyone however knows of a good broker they can recommend I'd be happy to go down that route....

Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Mark

Coincidentally I’ve just gone with Performance Direct (Chaucer), I was with Bennetts last year and PD were by far the cheapest this year, even with my mods, past claims history (car) and points.

I've just renewed my insurance with A-Quote (08712222111) have been with them for 3 years (no claims though), fully comp, protected no-claims, £250 excess - £104!(I'm 45), they were the cheapest for me.

Ended up with Ducati Insurance again. Bit more expensive but they seemed to know what I was declaring. Performance Direct ennded up one of the expensive ones. Others just seemed unprofessional......
