Out of winter hibernation

I brought the S4 out from storage at the bottom of the garage on Sunday.

I still need to do a full valet but a quick buff has seen her looking quite nice already.

Upgrades for this season are, Bar end mirrors, Exhaust and rearsets :-)

You might want a read of this while you choose your exhaust filter kit:

Yep, and I would whack a 40 tooth rear sprocket on it while you're at too (assuming it has the standard 15T front still).

I agree with the comments regarding the exhaust in that article. Get a Full termi spaghetti or equivalent system 45/50mm spaghetti headers and it will make the bike come alive. Power will be somewhere around 106-110 bhp (Ducati quote 113 bhp for the S4 Fogarty with that system) which is on par with the 916 superbike (I think around 104 bhp for the standard 916) but the S4 has a load more torque than the 916.

It is the 900ss style standard system which is killing it.

And it is looking a bit more complete than my M900 (reason for that is the background!)

So... I'm looking at the yellow bungee holding the monster up with slightly more fascination and interest than the Alpha.. nice tho' I am sure it is DrD ...

The yellow bungees are to hold the handlebars the right way around while off the clamps
The handlebars are off cos the forks have been internally fettled and externally cleaned.
They are as of this evening back on...tomorrow its front brakes (pads, fluid, callipers etc.)
Then its off the double stands onto the Abbastand and fresh swingarm shims fitted
Followed by Filter, Oil and Carb balance.....
The Alfa and M900 then swap positions as the M900 comes off SORN in March.
The Alfa has another month of stuff to do.

Thanks for the replies chaps, the pipes are internally baffled so not too noisy. The bike is also running a 996 Corse ECU (fitted by previous owner). Running a 14T front sprocket which has to be one of the best mods per ££

@DrD - Great article that! Interesting read.

@Dirty - Thanks! I like the minimalist look.
