June 2009 Monster of the Month
From Pomp1 (Max)
She's "Becera", started life as a black 1996 900 with the older engine (the one with larger valves) and after having owned the bike for a year pondering what I wanted to do I set off modifying her to be in line with Galluzzi's idea of a no-frills bike, so every part added had to be functional rather than aesthetic. The mods list at the moment includes: Front fully adjustable Superlight Showa forks Ducati 750 SS clip-on Brembo Serie oro clutch and brakes cylinder off a 916 Venhill braided line (race double line at the front) Billet clutch slave cylinder Surflex Ergal-Kevlar clutch discs + plates MPL vented clutch plate Casoli Moto open clutch cover Rosmoto rear sets K&N air filter Termignoni race round CF slip-ons Acewell rev counter/tacho/DSS Along with the tail chop all breathers, side panels and belts covers have been removed and cable routing changed. She's obviously a work in progress bike with more mods that I dare to think in the pipeline.

Its a great looking bike and so stands out in the crowd. I liked it when I saw it at Arrow Mill. Never got time to look close too much going on.
If its ongoing what other plans have you got. PS can I advise you to either lower your rear brake reservoir down or fork out a few quid for a longer pipe. It looks mighty stretched.

thanks everyone for the comments
Albie..thanks for pointing out the rear brake, now sorted (one of those "oh,I'll do that tomorrow" things, new bracket and now looks less scary..) on the pipeline the usual suspects: ohlins rear, hi-comp pistons, st2 cams and a conversion to later models forks. I also picked up a tank for a tenner on e-bay, and I see what I can make with that. |

unfortunately the tank has the same dent as many other monsters (bloody rhs switchgear..) but is OK, as my one had the same .It will be cut and some air vents inserted, so no chrome.. I painted the bike myself with Montana cans, used them for years and they've the most amazing range of colors. next one will have a Frecce Tricolori theme..
