S4R Right indicator flashes after switching off

I have an S4R here, Japanese import. Apart its many little issues on switching off the right indicators flash 12 times, the needles on the clocks also hold just off their rest position as well until the flashes are complete. No alarm fitted. Any thoughts?

Sounds like ECU isnt playing ball my RS had the headlight stay on for 10/15 secs after ignition off.
Could ask a tuning man or the speedo people Avanti i think.

I've seen people reporting phantom flashing () before. Because the flasher 'relay' is within the instruments, I think the general consensus is that it's caused by corrosion or moisture within the clocks themselves.

I seem to remember Brad the Bike Boy saying that he'd seen it on several bikes and advised the owners to either just put up with it or change the clocks.

You’ll have to wait until 27th March next year to do that though.

Happy New Year to you & Liz, Stafford

If you can establish that the fault is in the clocks then I think Scorpio Electronics would be able to help you. They have a few very happy customers in Norfolk and I've heard good reports on their work with instruments including an S4R set. Not sure if they get involved with ECUs though.

Scorpio Electronics in Lynn, 01553 279193 or 07768 624062,

That definitely sounds like there is some form of interference on the PCB affecting the Indicators circuit whilst the 'system' is shutting down.
My guess is 12 'clicks' being sent to the immobiliser circuit for some reason.

It might be worth opening up the clocks housing and leaving it to dry out indoors for a few days in case it's just moisture.

I have the exact same issue with my S4R. I'm not sure on the exact number of flashes but seems to speed up until the immob kicks in but everything else seems to work
ok. Previous owner has already replaced the clocks about 4000 miles ago but the clocks appear to be from 2003 for a 2007 bike!
