Off roading

Hi guys. For my son's 21st, I am looking for somewhere to go offroading with him. I did it for a day in New Zealand a few years ago, but it is too far to go for a weekend.

I have seen a Yahaha day in ythe UK, but it looks a bit lame. Also found one in South Wales, but have no idea how good it would be.

I am looking for somewhere all-in, i.e. bikes and gear, either in UK or mainland europe. Downside is that he doesn't have a bike license and will be a relative novice, so it really needs to be off-road.

Has anyone had any experience here that they can recommend?

focussed events do off road in south of spain

not been on one personally but have done a bunch of track days with them in spain/portugal and the are well run

Griffs, the guys that run the Yamaha days (Llanidloes in Mid Wales) will make it as hard as you want.

Can't quite remember the details, but wasn't there a good one in wales ?
Maybe the one mentioned by Nick ?
I seem to remember Simon Pavey being involved.
Bmw bikes possibly.
Didn't jp do one recently....I'm sure he would have posted something....he must be off touring again.

I did the BMW one in Wales in April.

Run my Simon Pavey, one of the best off roaders in the world. Course is 1st Class , but pricey.
All types of terrain covered but best done as a two day course, but one day is still great.

I have done the BMW off road course too. It is a great weekend, but exhausting.
However, you do need a full bike licence to do it.

Unfortunately BMW requires a full bike license. Looks a good course though.

Been in touch with Yamaha. 200 quid a day for 4-5 hours riding. Don't really do a 2 day course, but they second day can expand on what you have done on the 1st day, so it could be a good option.

I also found this..http://www.trailrides-wales.com/prices.html and they will let him ride a 125 on a provisional. I wonder if it will have enough guts??
