Ist to 2nd gear change. 800 S2R 2006

I will be the first to admit I have big feet. Only had the bike a short while and try as I might and adjusting gear change lever position I cannot get a smooth change. Usually goes into neutral and only way to get 2nd is to go down to first bring it to about 4000 revs and then it will go in but not always, all other changes are fine.

Bled the clutch no difference. The big feet reference is to say i do have a problem getting toe under lever and the throw from 1st to 2nd does seem long.

love the bike but this is a real pain. Any ideas?
