Newbie from Nottingham

Greetings. After nearly 30 years of riding sports bike I've finally taken the plunge, done the sensible thing and bought an '08 Monster S4R Testastretta. It's not my first Ducati, I had a mk.1 999S for a couple of years. I haven't picked it up yet either and the wait is starting to kill me so I've been entertaining myself by trying to find a Termignoni exhaust for it, planting fog might be easier.

I have some questions:

For engine parts I'm guessing S4RS bits fit?
Ditto rear paddock stand?
Where can I find a workshop manual for it?
Does anyone have or know of a Termi/Zard exhaust and chip (cans not complete system) for sale?
I've heard that decoring the standard cans and a decat pipe is an option?

All information greatly appreciated.

I think your ECU is the Magneti Marelli IAW 5AM, in which case Avanti Race Parts http://www.avantiraceparts.co.uk/page.php?id=19can can reflash it with the Ducati Performance Termignoni map.

Alternatively, Neil at Cornerspeed http://cornerspeed.co.uk/tuning.php can download a Rexxer map for either slip-on cans or a full system.

Both companies offer a postal service, so you just send them your ECU.

For posting pictures, you need to use a photo hosting site.
I use www.postimages.org/signup.

Once you've uploaded your picture, you should be presented with these options...



Click on the blue 'copy' icon next to the 'hotlink for forums' address and paste it into your post.

If you preview the post before submitting it, the picture will appear in the preview if you've done it correctly.

As for the paddock stand, I had an S2R 1000, and the paddock stand is, I'm fairly certain, the same as for the S4R Testastretta, (I'm still using it on my 1100 Evo).

Thank you for the welcome and information peeps. It's strange that you found those Termis on eBay Darren as I've been glued to it for the last month or so searching for a bike and looking at bits. Anyway, here's the old girl...

I've spoken with Nelly at Cornerspeed today and he's offered me both options, flashing the ecu and uploading the rexxer map. The bike doesn't arrive for another coupla weeks so it gives me some time to decide what I want to do, thanks again people...

Welcome along, that looks a nice clean one in a very contemporary colour.

Loosing the udder with a full system really cleans it up around there though so worth considering if you can get hold of one and with 'tail intactus' I would personally avoid coring the standard cans so you can keep all the original bits wrapped up in a safe place.

She's a minter, cheap too, 1 owner, FDSH, 6K miles, less than £5K. I was looking at an equally mint and low mileage black RS but he wanted £7.5K and wasn't bending.

Ok, it's only done 600-odd miles but you've got 95% of the bike at about 50% of the price! Result!

I think I would be factoring in the price and the PITA of the likelihood of changing oil seals etc. after putting on some miles after such a long lay up with that one- Ducati's don't generally like being left for very long and all the best ones I have known over the years have had good mileages put on them.

The Bike Specialists, they have a funny pricing system, they just seem to charge a lot more for everything they sell. Perhaps this is why some of their bikes have been on their website for over a year...???

I intend to put some miles on it, it will be my daily rider until late autumn and/or the weather turns rotten. It's from Hunts in Manchester, apparently the RCV213 V-S behind it in the glass cabinet isn't for sale...
