Bitubo shock

Bitubo are a ‘premium’ Italian suspension manufacturer (think Ohlins/Nitron etc)
that looks like a bit of a budget offering , since it has no remote reservoir but will likely be a high quality item, plus it’s offered with a custom spring to suit your weight.
Should feel better than the 15yo Sachs OEM shock either way

If I sprung for the one with the remote reservoir where would I mount it?

When I fitted a remote reservoir shock on my S2R, the Öhlins recommended position for the reservoir was on the front right frame rail by the engine:



However, I didn't like the look of that so I cut a couple of small nicks out of the undertray beneath the seat to accommodate the hose and mounted it on the left rear subframe instead, which I thought looked much neater. If the Bitubo shock doesn't come with mounting brackets, you can easily pick up the rubber cradles for the reservoir online and use large hose clips to hold everything in place.

Originally I had the remote canister for my Ohlins shock on the frame but never did like it there, then I saw the OEM location on M900S which places it on a plate behind the shock - just in front of the hoop and so made up a plate to mount it there.

The hose is a little on the long side (compared to the OEM Ohlins) but it looks so much better tucked away.
