Forcing TFT to stay in night mode (black background)

Does anyone else think the TFT display on the 1200 looks much nicer with the black background that comes on when you ride in the dark? Has anyone else bothered to force their TFT to stay in this night mode? If so, where is the light sensor that you have to cover up?

No need for the low-tech approach! I think this is what you're looking for:

one of the strangest rides ever, riding a 2018 1200 (base model) through a forest on a sunny day, last year, the dash was flashing day, night, day, night ...

The dash on my car does it. It's a bit random. Cross under a railway bridge\flyover\mid-flight pidgeon and night mode kicks in. Thinking about it, I reckon that might be configurable too...

RTFM

most new cars seem to have auto options for lights, wipers and other stuff,
a wrong press of the indicator stalk will start them doing things you weren’t expecting

Luckily changing modes on Monsters requires you to be quite deliberate
