Bologna visit

Thought you might like to see an image from Bologna from our visit earlier in the year which seemed appropriate:

Not "Carburettor Street" then?
Disappointing.

For those of you who are yet to visit Bologna, here are a few more images. Even if you discount the Ducati connection, it is a lovely city, well worth a short break.

Agree with that, brilliant place and loads of interesting places to see. Barely a vertical tower in sight, made you wonder how they'd managed not to fall over!

We were there earlier in the year and it was HOT, even the locals thought it was a bit much.
We did our 'mad dogs and English men' impersonation a few times 42+ C in Florence was a bit warm even with frequent stops for espresso or beer followed by gellato.

Bologna isn’t known as ‘La Grassa’ for nothing.

The company was founded in 1933 as "Società anonima Gaetano Dell'Orto e figli" (Gaetano Dell'Orto and Sons) but actually only founded by Gaetano's sons, Luigi Piero and Giuseppe.

Apparently they tried an apostrophe in the prototypes but the engines ran too rich as a result.

Thanks, interesting. They still make many different models of carburettor.

So Del Orto isn't Del Trotter's Italian cousin then?
