Yip. Too far from me now, but fondly remembered.

Followed by a horrible wet and boring windy day, so changed back to the white bodywork .

Too cold and damp today so cleaned my exhaust the best I could with out removing the whole system . I used Harpic 10X for a £1 from morrisons and some 85p cleaning pads . It took two goes to get rid of most of the brown staining but they have come up better than new . Not sure how long the finish will last, but not that bothered really .

Hey Colin, good job mate, they look spot on, have you ran the engine since doing this?just wondering what happens when they get hot for the first time?

Cracking job Colin. I did exactly the same as you, although the first time I polished them I used a 'proper' stainless cleaner, Solvol Bluing Remover, subsequently I've used Harpic, which is pretty much chemically identical and achieves the same result but at a fraction of the cost.

I find the pipes start to bronze slightly after about 500 miles but, once you've polished them up the first time, it's easy to remove the discolouration with just a wipe over with a bit of Harpic on a sponge followed by clean water.

No I haven't started the bike up yet. Like luddite says I expect them to turn brown again fairly sharpish
