2020 M1200S Black on Black

I quite like this. I think the combination of gloss and satin black works well. Tasteful

I'm sure it's a lovely motorbike, but I'm one of these people who likes a bit of colour.
After WW11 you could have any colour you like so long as it was Black. They just larded a coat of black over the khaki and sold it as civilian.

I think Black is a bit of a cop out? It doesn't show much imagination. Having various textures of black in a cleverly exposed photograph is going to have some sort of artistic effect, but in real life it's just going to look dirty most of the time unless it's very carefully looked after.

There's only one colour scheme worse than this and that's that bloody awful Grey that seems to have come from Audi.

In a World full of colour I think they can do much better than this.. Anything is possible and it doesn't have to be gaudy.

Finally, what on earth is going on with one red spoke on each wheel??

Actually I wouldn't't kick it out of bed for farting, but I would be getting the spray gun out..

I wouldn't throw it out of bed for eating crackers.
Agreed re the wheel spokes,
I think of all the bikes I really wanted - Vincent Black Shadow, AJS 7R, Matchless G50, Matchless G45, (had a thing about Matchless as my first big bike was a 1948 rigid G80 bought for £10 in 1968) - all black.

At least they had a splash of Gold on them... Matchless G50 had a Red tank and Gold engine covers. No coincidence that My Monster has a Red tank and Gold engine covers.
I painted my 650 Ajay, Papyrus White over Royal Blue, one of the 1961 colour options. It always looked the cleanest in a crowd of Black Ajays and Matchboxes.
My G11CSR was Red and my 14CSR 250 lightweight was Polychromatic Blue. The Commando is going to be Yellow.
The only brand new bike I ever bought came in Black, but it was a civilianised Russian Neval, painted Black over Siberian camouflage White... Some of the paint was still wet when it was delivered!!

The G50 red was more maroon, the engine was gold to protect the magnesium I had one. Also had a Vincent but a lowly rapide.

I agree with Gazza, imho, zero imagination shown with just a colour change.
I'm in the market to swap next year and I really wanted something more advanced, something upgraded. Maybe 10more bhp, a proper QS would be a big thing, more ground clearance or just new colours on the body and wheels or frame. More interesting to look at than bloody matte & gloss black!
Quite disappointed in Ducati for this. Maybe a Streetfighter V4 then but I haven't seen a price list....

Someone -who usually knows- told me between £16K & £18K; so £17,500 plus exhaust?

According to Sales

Ducatis sales stalled in a booming market worldwide for over 500cc bikes , so has KTM and Triumph ...
HD and Suzuki sales have plummeted , the other 3 Japs have all been big winners as as have Apprillia, Guzzi , Indian, and BMW all up ,

HONDA has been the biggest sales riser in over 500cc bikes

Try a 1200R, much sharper than the S, more ponies, more ground clearance, lighter, better suspension, lighter wheels, I’ve ridden both, I’d take an R every day

Oh, wait a minute... I’ve got an R
Lol
