Wimbotsham. Fenman 2019
As I now know one of the Fenman prime movers quite well, the possibility of UKMOC having a stand there on the August Bank Holiday Monday, has presented itself.
The pitch will cost nothing, but everyone still pays the normal entrance fee into the field where all the stalls are, that also gets you into the school playground to see all the display bikes. We can have enough room for the gazebo and as many Monsters as are likely to attend. I am also 90% sure that we will be allowed to park one car or van behind the gazebo for maximum convenience. I know that they are going to clamp down on arrival times for exhibitors this year as the Harley owners always arrive late and cause problems riding through the public to get to their pitch. I think no later than 10am was mentioned. If nothing else it's the ultimate secure parking for the event! Another way to see the show too. Anyone up for it?

That's a smashing offer Capo.. Thank you and yes please...
That's got the ball rolling, all we need now is Monsters that don't mind an early-ish start.

Thanks to Capo for gazebo supply.
Monday august 26th then, just to put a date on it. This is always a really nice event, with plenty of interesting bikes of absolutely all types to see, and in a really nice setting. Friendly locals too. One of my favourite outings of the year. Count me in. |

Count me in!
The Fenman must be one of the best bike shows in East Anglia. Where else would a village allow thousands of bikes to descend for a day, take over, eat, show off rare and interesting machinery, listen to loud music, then clear off until next year!

As I haven't been booked into anything else for the late summer bank holiday (yet), I'm in.

I think I've just managed to confirm a booking for a pitch at the Fenman on the August Bank Holiday Monday.
Grumpy and I will deal with getting Capo's canopy on site on the day, or the day before. Together with a large selection of banners, or a selection of large banners even! All we need is folk with Monsters to turn up and enjoy a fabulous day...

Hello Colin, thinking of coming?
Postcode is PE34 3QH.. You can't miss it. it's the entire village of Wimbotsham and most of the outlying fields packed with rare and unusual bikes.. and some ordinary ones. I tried to find their website, but they use faceplant now.. https://en-gb.facebook.com/pages/cat...-123462872212/

Depending on your eta, I'm up to meeting and guiding you to the show.
I'm planning on being one of the set up crew, so aiming to be in the show ground for 9am.

Just received an email from the Fenman ominously entitled "Final instructions"
Anyway the goalposts seem to have been moved from information I have had from them previously... Please note the new set-up times. "This is a generic email sent to all Club Stands and Charity Stands For this years show we have 3 areas for parking. You are entered as a CLUB, when arriving at the booking in area on the village playing field please inform the gate staff you are a CLUB. This will speed up the parking process. Paperwork - if you haven’t completed the booking forms yet, please either send back via email or bring on the day. If you haven’t completed the forms when you arrive these will need to be completed before setup can commence. (If you have lost the forms they are attached again) The address is for the show is Village Playing field Church road Wimbotsham Kings Lynn Norfolk PE34 3QB (closest postcode) When you are approaching from A10 you will see the Fenman bike show signs. If you follow them into the village you will find the playing field. Arrivals for setup of Stand You may arrive on Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 8pm to set up and you are welcome to stay on the field over night but please be advised we only have portaloos and access to drinking water. We have no power on site for general use. If you arriving on Monday morning we are open from 6am to 8:30am - remember the show opens to the public at 9am. NOTE TO BIKERS FOR CLUB STANDS If you have riders coming to the stand they are welcome to arrive after the show starts but please let them know to ride slow on the show ground as the public are on the field. As it’s for charity please remind bikers that it’s £5 to get in for each rider / passenger, which gets you access to all of the show. We hope you have a great day"

It'll be really good to see you Colin, but good luck finding very much motorway in Norfolk. You will find the slip road off to Wimbotsham quite long and twisty.... Safe journey mate.
Due to the new timings on the email, I will be aiming to get on site for 8.30am, present the forms and find the pitch… I dare say we'll still be setting up when they open the gates, but hey, we've got all day.

Dave
Thanks for the offer, probably be a better route than I know but would mean a 6:30 start to get to you for 8. Was an early/full day at work today and may go in tomorrow so will take the direct route up Monday. Can leave at 7:30 for a 9:30 /10 arrival. |
