Hello from South Wales

Just wanted to say hello from sunny South Wales.

I will be picking up my first Ducati next Saturday 1 June.

My new bike will be a Monster 1100S.

Looking forward to a lighter bike, coming from a Honda CB1300.

Hope South Wales is indeed sunny next weekend when you pick up your new bike - some cracking roads round the Brecon Beacons to enjoy.

Picked the Monster up a day early, just been out on it.

Well, it's quite different from the CB1300S, feels much lighter being 60 kilo lighter, steers much quicker. The front wheel feels underneath me and it just steers without any effort.

I really like it, I had forgotten what it was like to actually ride a bike - the CB was really nice, but you felt like you we're on auto pilot and a little removed from the actual ride.

Not so with the M1100S, very involving, just an absolute hoot.

Still riding with a little caution due to the total change in the bikes handling chacteristics

I can see a few miles being added this weekend.
