Service/Tuning work near Essex

Hello folks.

I have a 2000 M900 on Carbs and need to get the carbs set up properly due to some rough running and flat spots in the rev range, caused by the fitted of shortened, hi-level open pipes. The Ducati Dealers in the immediate area do not seem overly interested in the work or do not have the means to do the tuning work (so i'm told?). I would like this work done as i want the bike to be back in tip top condition and revving smoothly all the way through its range (who wouldn't?).

Does anyone know a good independant workshop not too far away from the Essex area who may be willing to do this work? The bike has 16,000 miles on it, and therefore i am not fussed about it being done by Ducati, but would prefer a specialist.

I have just spoke to Pro-Twins in Surrey who would gladly do the work and seemed very helpful, but i have also read on here some not so complimentary reports on them.

Do people from this site recommend them, or can they suggest somewhere better. I don't want to have to travel hundreds of miles to get there.

Thanks

Mark

Mike Dawson - do a search for him on here - brilliant independent
If you want to go up country, then I'd also reccommend Neil at Cornerspeed (Notts), and John @ JHP (Ducati Coventry)

If you want your carbs done properly give chris a ring

He's an approved dyno jet tuning center, he runs his own supermoto team and his MV was the first to win a major road race in ages.

Has got consistant good write ups in all the mags.

Top tuner with a proven track record and his own dyno

Hi folks.

Thanks for all the replies. I have decided to take the bike down to 'TecMoto' near Romford to have the work done, mainly because it is close and they seemed keen to do the work when i spoke to them.

I will let you know how it goes..........

Ta ta,

Mark

I took the bike to TecMoto and collected it this morning. I won't go into what was wrong, but the carbs were stripped, cleaned and serviced, a few little niggles resolved, and now the bike is running like a dream with bags more ooomph.

I would recommend TecMoto near Romford.

Is Tec Moto in Harold Wood, behind a row of shops?

Glad to hear you got sorted. Mitch is a top bloke who has helped me out a few times when I needed parts for race bikes at very short notice.

Glad you're sorted, we use BDK Race Engineering for any tuning so if you need an alternative any time try them. James is mustard on Ducatis and he and Sam are thoroughly nice chaps.

That's right round the corner from where I work. Very helpful bloke - has adjusted my chain once or twice and wouldn't take any money for it!
