Drill a little hole in the upright part of the bracket and run the cable tie under the frame tube.

I was going to say this, but add a little rubber grommet so that the cable tie doesn't rub.

Really like the bracket though, Buzzer. It's given me some ideas for my CZ clocks - I want to eliminate the big cast surround and make a holder for the speedo / neutral / high beam lights - something like that is now on my agenda.

That would work too, although the cable tie might then rub on the underside, so you'd have to watch for that.

well apart from a few snagging jobs, and replacing the rear brake hose which is too long… its finished. I need to tweak the ignitech unit and enable one of the output channels to limit the revs to 2500 when the stand is down… When I was 19 a good mate rode away from the pub with the stand down… just up the road he came off, and the accident resulted in him losing an arm… those things stay with you…

I am going to keep this one... I was reflecting the other day about a day in 1994 when I went to work on My Laverda Jota...it was such a nice day I rode past work and went to Slater Brothers the Laverda importers at Collington. When I got there I parked next to a red 900 Monster... It was the first time I had seen one in the flesh... I was looking around it when Richard Slater came out with the keys and said take it for a spin! I was really impressed, much lighter and agile than the Jota... I have always wanted one since then!

Need to find another project now! if anyone in the UK has anything... let me know!

That looks bloomin' lovely.
Not that I'm surprised, given the standard of your other work.

Awesome job as usual, the bike looks really nice. I would set the stand interlock to let the engine run when it's down but only in neutral. that way you can warm the bike on the stand. I modified my '02 bike that way and its working great but the 748 has the stupid suicide stand and no interlock which I have modified to stay down.

I 've had a couple of near misses with the stand down but thankfully didn't come off, just a couple of wtf moments.

That's superlative. I'll give it 9.99 out of 10.

Sorry to dock a point for the clutch hose! standard length is 1020 between banjo centres. It should run inside the fork leg, there is a wire guide with a grommet that picks up on the back of the lower handlebar lug nut and bolt.

Very nice job indeed. I always wanted a Laverda and missed the chance in 1980 when I could have done a deal on a GS1000 I was selling but I had bought a TR6 (sportscar-not the bike) and needed cash. I regularly used to ride past the shop at Collington -it's just the sort of twisty B road to enjoy a Lav or a Duke. A nice run via Tenbury and Bromyard.

Well I've got a Honda H100 that I've got to restore-so you'd be in good company.
