This is annoying , my M750 paintwork

My M750 was repainted in Ducati 1973 Melon yellow RAL 1028 is The official Bevel restorers colour and Ducati Reccomendation ,as original Ducati colour code one is a factory mystery ...

But when I got the paintwork back 3 years ago I was thinking it might be a little too yellow and not enough orange ,,,but I was ok with it at the time ....

But the recent damage to the bike and the repairs to Fairing, Belly pan and tail unit by a wonderful old chap Dave in Cirencester has me angry as its now very apparent that the repaired paint done by Dave is the correct 1028 colour and its slightly more orange than the fuel tank and front mudguard and also now same as my 750ss which was repainted 1028 more recently by Clive at total paint in Littlehampton who did a top job

so im not happy the original paint guy clearly used wrong paint code ,, so now I have to fork out for tank and front mudguard and decals to make it correct ,, The Guy in Brighton charged me more than £1200 for that work ,,it was also poorly executed with marks and orange peel and it reacted badly to polish and started crazing ?

So over the winter I will have to give Dave the tank and Mudguard and seat cover thats another £500 to make it all match .. Its making me grumpy thinking about it ...

Melon Yellow is actually a very yellow orange ,,,, and both my M750 and 750ss have it and the black speed stripes running from front to back like the originals had in 1974

The painter from brighton now admits he did not use RAL 1028 that is written on his order sheet by me , he changed it to RAL 1023 and then lied to me ,, I have told him to refund me or its small claims court

That sounds a real nightmare

Here’s mine (after custom paint, not the acid yellow original in my profile pic)
