I was gonna say the 1200R is the one to go for really the Dukes are just glorified motocross bikes IMHO which is fine if you like that kind of thing.

There's definitely off-road heritage in the 690 Duke. You had MX and Enduro that spawned Supermoto which spawned the 690.
