Newbie saying Hello

Happy New Year everyone. I have been a life long mototrcyclist and Ducatisti but only just joined this forum. In the stable is a 1962 175 Moto Morini Tresetta Sprint which i am entering the Moto Giro D'Italia on, hopefully this year. BMW 1200 GS workhorse for serious motorcycling and a couple of fun only Monsters, a O5 S2R 800 in sports motorcycle Mike Hailwood livery and signed by Giacomo Agostini, ( though he never rode Ducati's but there is a story behind it), and my pride and joy a 06 S4RS 998. The S2r is the missus bike and we have had them both from new.

Just longing for this **** Winter weather to go away to get some riding in.

Welcome. I don't know what you mean about the GS for serious riding though. I use the monster for everything!

Dont get me wrong, for grin factor the S4RS has it in spades but I cover lots of miles and anything that requires filling up every 80 -100 miles and can't be loaded up like a mule for a fortnights comfortable touring cant be regarded as serious. Hence GS and serious. BUT in terms of pressing all the right buttons as to what motorcycling always stands for, light weight, (relatively), power, speed, handling and drop dead gorgeous looks the S4rs wins every time. It captures everything I grew up with in the age when the Triton & Norvin cafe racers ruled the roost. Its the modern day equivalent.
