headlight upgrades 696?
so I found myself riding home in the dark last night and the output of my 2008 696 headlight is shocking!!
A friend was riding behind me on his Triumph and his headlight was so much better any suggestions as to how to improve output? or does anyone have experience of the motodemic led kit? Cheers in advance Dingo |

I'll have a batch of adaptor rings ready in a few weeks time.
Then you can fit any 7" headlamp unit, most of which are better than the standard Bosch. http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/s...ht=alternative

The Philips Extreme upgrade bulbs definitely improve the std lamp.
For the cost, they're definitely worth it but the result is still not really up to scratch. I've had one fitted for years and, with the headlamp beam carefully adjusted to the absolute maximum, non-dazzle height, its still a tad short of adequate. I've had one of Gazza's adaptor rings fitted for 8 or 9 months now. I can confirm that they perform pretty damn perfectly. At the moment I have a rather cheap, aftermarket light unit fitted and even this is an improvement over my previous std/Philips set up. From fairly limited test results amongst club members so far, I would say that the Wipac unit that Jerry fitted sounds like the most cost effective upgrade. Personally, I quite fancy the Cibie Valeo, H180 unit, but I haven't quite decided where to splash my cash as yet. The Motodemic led unit looks futuristic, which may not suit my older model (M750), and is super-expensive. However, the unit from jwspeaker.com which Cobra88 fitted looks to be very similar, possibly even the same, and is much cheaper. He reports excellent performance from this unit (albeit such reports can sometimes be subjective). That might be the way to go if you fancy that kind of design. Whatever you decide on, your feedback on its performance would be much appreciated. With any luck, and a bit more feedback, we will one day be able to give a definitive recommendation for upgrading the std monster headlight. |

I have the Motodemic LED conversion kit and it is a fantastic improvement over the stock headlight but very expensive!

I can confirm that Baz's headlight is blinding (in daylight, reflected in my mirrors from way back)!
