Hello from Lincolnshire
Hello Guys, just bought an 03 621ie Dark as a run around while my "other" bike is off the road.
I joined on 'ere to look for any Monster specific top-tips and what to look at to keep it going and to see what other owners have done to theirs. It's a nice machine with less than 2000 miles on the clock and it feels like it still needs running in and according to the manual it still needs to be. Been biking since 1978 and ridden my Kawasaki Z1-R since 1980 and morphed it into a Harris Magnum (but it's out of action with an engine fix at the moment). Owned a 998 for a while but was made an offer i couldn't refuse so sold that on. regards Howie |

Welcome aboard.
We like photo's. Your task (Should you accept it) is to work out how to post photo's using links to a third party web hosting site. Photo Buggrit used to be popular, but most stopped using it when it got expensive.

Well done. That looks to be a good example of the breed: very understated in black.
The only changes I’d make to the looks are some carbon cans and belt covers.... until the other ones.

Aye well a few changes after three years of ownership:
Span adjusting and shorter Levers so my stronger two fingers do the work iPhone Sat Nav mount and a Battery Condition LED: Power supply for the Satnav: A removable Rack: and these things so I can actually see behind: I keep thinking Oil Cooler, high Level exhaust and second Front Brake Disk - then later on "nah It'll be ok" !! |

But can you check that your elbows haven’t dropped off with those?

What are these mirrors if you don't mind me asking?
I'm thinking of trying some bar-end mirrors after a gap of about 40 years and not getting on very with them in those days as they kept falling off! Looking for something that will fold back when not in use, but finding nothing but tat wherever I look. I need the fittings for the thicker wall alloy bars. Cheers

Hello Howie - from a former Lincs lad. I grew up a bit further towards the coast near Mablethorpe. I had a 620ie up until last week - really liked it but wanted something with a bit more capability for faster / 2-up / out of town riding. I did the belts, the fuel filter and a few other things, they're nice and simple!

Only downside is they're quite expensive. I had a spare but I fitted it to my daily 'exercise' bicycle so that I don't need to keep looking back. Welcome to the OP BTW.

Harris
Instead of posting too many pictures - there's this long thread on the Z1OC web site:
http://z1ownersclub.co.uk/phpBB3/vie...php?f=7&t=3841 in the mean time: And if you think Ducati's are expensive to own, I'd prolly not be able to sell Horace for 1/3 of the geld I have sunk into it !! And until I posted the last picture, I didn't realise how small it is compared to the Monster Last edited by hh93; 27-07-2021 at 06:42 PM.. |

Thanks, I looked the lane splitters up and you're both right about expensive!!
They only seem to be available from the US too? Exactly what I'm looking for but I'll have to psyche myself up for a spend like that! Cheers.
