New M600 Dark owner from Cambs
Bought one on ebay last night and delivered today. Can`t believe how clean it is. Hardly a mark on it. Looking forward to having a play on it.

Welcome aboard, I'm just down the road in Haverhill, if you fancy a brew/ride let me know.
I'm planning to pop to Donington for the CRMC meet, with a few other members, on sunday. Why not come along and meet some of the lads.

Congratulations Mark and welcome.
That really is smart and clean..!!!..I like the engine casings in that colour, but the mirrors seem to have shrunk in the wash.. I'm guessing it is a 1998 model or there abouts..?? Cheers Gazza |

Yes, it is a 98.
Just been doing some research and I understand the belt type changed in 98. I guess a dealer should be able to tell me which mine requires from the engine number? |

Yep ones square tooth and one rounded.. Can't recall which way round!!
I think don't quote me square is the older belt. I do believe your 600 uses the round tooth. I think they changed in 97. Fab little bikes M600 love mine. |

Hi and welcome. You can check belts easily, is quite obvious by looking at the pulley which one you need.

Well, it`s already costing me money!
The battery didn`t hold its charge overnight so I fitted a new one yesterday and whilst I was at St Neots motorcycles I picked up some belts. I got them to check which ones were required from the chassis number and it transpires that my bike is actually a 2000 model, not 1998 as shown on the V5 so it must be an import and a guess was made as to the year of manufacture! Hopefully I will get time to fit the new belts this weekend. I checked the air filter and it looks brand new, as do the plugs which is a good sign. I have taken it to work and back a couple of times now and she runs really well. The oil looks clean and the filter new so I am in no hurry to change that, but I won`t leave it too long. I have some carbon silencers winging their way to me that I have purchased off here to make it sound like a Ducati! |
