Quick hello from a new member
Bumped into someone at RossoCorse last week who told me about UK Monster Club, so thought I'd join as see what it's all about.
If anyone has taken their bike down to the Swiss Alps, I'd be interested to hear about their trip, where to stay, the best routes and roads to take, costs, etc. When's the next meet at Fat Boys? |

Hello and welcome to the club.
Fatboys is the 1st Saturday of the month so keep an eye on the London thread for that. Lots of members have done the Alps, me included just last year and went on to the Dolomites. Best bet is take the French autoroutes to Geneva and have a play from there. Northern Italy is great and the Stelvio pass tremendous but hard work, but think about the Cote D'Azur too as the roads I travelled were better, and I like Brie.

Hi,
I live in Switzerland, havent managed to get over the alps yet as I am working in Sweden at the moment, and since getting the bike, I have had about 4 weeks of actual home time and about 10 days of great weather. look for marcuswhitecross at www.bikegreatescape.com for pics of what I have done. If you head down drop me a Pm and if Im around we could do something I live in Basel. In Switzerland there is a highway sticker for about £20 for the year, but most bikes dont bother, but cars do get spot checked alot especially at the borders. |

Hi Stuart,
It was me you met a RC. Probably try to organise a Fatboys meet/rideout for 29th August since I'm off a wedding on 5th Sept. |

I've got a couple of great photo's of your Chromo, the guys at work love it. That day was a master class for a Ducati service!
Had any more thoughts about how my wheel bearings got so mashed up? I think the guys are laughing about your story Last edited by StuartJames; 10-08-2009 at 09:33 PM.. |

Thanks for the advice about the Swiss Vignette Marcus. About the trip... I've got friends that live in Annecy so I'm planning on entering Switzerland from France, and cut through from west to east, via as many of the best recommend passes, tunnels and roads as possible. I'd like to hit the Black Forest on the way home, so any routes through that part of Germany would be appreciated too. What's it like for travel inns and B&B's down there? |

Not sure, it was near Liverpool St Station about 10 years ago, there was another almost idential one at Canary Wharf about 15 years ago, funny... Just one tower and the diner... How things have changed.

Have you still got your route plan, and how did you find the accommodation? |
