I really like this, great price for what looks like a lot of fun

looks decent Rob, no need for a tail chop debate on that design! wasn't aware of these guys, around since 2008 though.

I hadn't heard of them either.
I like the bike, but that's probably more because I like the general concept of a 40.odd HP single in "street scrambler" trim than because of this particular incarnation.
Somehow I can't forgive it for having a scant front mudguard and, more particularly, no rear one at all.
That rather smacks of style over substance to me.
I guess it plays to the market though, which is necessary in order for business survival.
Overall, its the sort of bike that I could see myself buying ... if I hadn't already built my own version (with no water-cooling and yes, proper mudguards).
Then again I would probably also look at something like a KTM Duke or whatever CCM are offering these days.

I like it too. I remember reading about it a couple of years ago when the concept was announced. It was planned that virtually all bar the motor would be British made.

I like the lines and think it shares elements with the new Triumph Trident - namely the tail and scalloped tank.

Have you considered the Fantic, (which I've been tempted by)? Water-cooled though, unfortunately.

I know, very salty and that's the base model! it's another 2K if you want the sports exhaust and 4.5K for Ohlins kit.

Actually, having refreshed my memory of the various guises of the CCM Spitfire and the KTM Duke, and also seen the offering from Fantic that Luddite flagged up, I think I like the Herald best out of all of them.
I did slightly accuse it of style over substance but compared to the competition its actually by far the least afflicted in that department.
And for the price, its a relative steal.
So yes, it scores pretty highly in my book.
And I'm sure you could graft on a rear hugger somehow.

Just 10hp more than an old srx400 it's very similar concept. It's good price and pretty cool but I dont like the openness under the seat. Too empty by design for me.

I spent many hours in the shed and probably a considerable amount of money trying to achieve that look monoshocking classic Z1000s in the 90's.

It reminds me a little of the old CZ 250:

One of our Norfolk Members has a Herald 125.
It's is all neat and tidy, looks well made and does what it says on the tin.

The Brute looks like a lot of fun and seems to be begging to be customised. Nothing there that some mudguards and splash of colour here and there wouldn't sort out.

Are those tyres tubed?

I'll bet a packet of virtual hobnobs that the Triumph will end up with a great big piece of plastic hanging below the seat to hold the number plate and this will be closely followed by lots of after market tail tidies...

As an alternative, the Royal Enfield Himalayan keeps catching my eye as something different to the Monster for slowly pottering around the Cornish roads, air cooled, 400cc and a nice comfy riding position (important when you get to my age )

The Fantic Cabalero is all round better looking, faster (its red) and cheaper - I'd quite like one. Looks like they & Brute share an engine?
