2013 Race season

KRR Team 2013: Final bulletin & thank you

We would like to thank all our sponsors & friends who have helped us though this difficult year, after losing our rider from last year Alex Heaton; who won the 2012 Superstock 1000 championship.

After Alex’s accident just before that start of the season, we missed the 1st meeting of the year at Brands Hatch. We managed to entice Ian Mackman to ride at the 2nd meeting of the year at Donington Park, who was able to give us very good feed back on the new RS bike and also get settings sorted too.
Ben Scranage then joined us for Snetterton, Oulton and Rockingham – putting the bike on the podium twice at this last meeting. Ben was the 2nd placed rider in the 2012 S/Stock championship; but he started his own business in August, so had no more finances to carry on.
Young Connor Tagg then got on the bike for the Mallory meeting (and also another club 2 weeks prior) and without any practice day there he finished in the top 10 in both races.
The final meeting was round the GP circuit at Donington Park where we tested a couple of people there & John Fisher piloted the bike (after his own had a mechanical breakdown during qualifying), having had no practice on the big twin & finished in the top 15.

So, we’d like to thank the following (in no particular order)
W.M.Snell for supporting the whole Team
Mad Maz Buchan for generous financial support to help us create the RS.
Podium Racing (USA) for titanium parts & set-ups.
Putoline Oil for products
David Phillips for arranging and sourcing sponsorship
Frank from DP Brake Pads for product support
Graham from Continental Tyres, for letting us test tyres
Rob Kato Webb for product support and welding/repairs
Wilf from Moto-Rapido for supplying a wet tyre for a test day
Dave & Bernadette & the Thundersport team for all their help through the year
Neil from Cornerspeed, Ian from 999 Locks for financial help
And finally to the UKMOC as a whole, for their kind donations to enable Connor to ride the bike in September
Many thanks to you all, this was all so much appreciated.

We still have a final test to go to, for a potential rider for 2014…….. so watch this space!
