S4RS First Ride

First ever ride on my S4RS today, since I got it in December. Coming from an M900 I expected it to be a step forward. But wow, it really blew me away. Firstly, it is a bullet. And I only opened it up fully a couple of times. It flies, I was literally shouting it was such a blast. It revs so quickly. It is very easy to be over the speed limit all the time and so effortlessly. Such a weapon. The brakes are good, the front ones are very strong not so much the rear. Is this normal? They brakes as with the rest of the bike will take some getting used to. The suspension is just fantastic it really irons out all the lumps and bumps on the road that my M900 would crash over. I love it. And I have to say it really is a Monster !!

Unfortunately the RS suffers with the crap rear brake like all Monsters, the only way to keep it in excellent order is to keep bleeding it when needed.

The early 4V 916/996/998; they're brutal but great fun hey? Enjoy responsibly!

If you think the S4RS is good (which I think it is btw) you need to try a 1200R…

The 1200 offers undoubtedly better performance but it's no looker really IMHO compared to the early bikes. It's like they tried to beat the ugly out of an 1100 EVO but give it more muscle! I think they achieved it some, but still not quite

1200R or an SFV2 are on my radar…once the wifey is amenable and I’ve got the money.
