POR15 has blocked the tank up

When I bought 750ss in 2009 I poured an epoxy tank liner into the tank as it was rusty , noiw when I try to start it up for winter duties after 7 months asleep its dead , on examination fuel filter blocked in tank but the electric fuel pump is ok,, reason for bloc kedtank is full of bits of delaminated 15 epoxy probably due to Ethanol which I can flush out , but 50% of it is still rock solid on the metal work

any ideas what I should do????????

Oxcalic acid wash out?

It should have stuck, perhaps poor prep or a naff batch?

he prep was decent the tank was cleaned out and then had bolts put in and turned dozens of times till it was shiny and then flushed of all debris , its lasted 11 years it was not POR15 but PETSEAL

So oxalic acid will release the rest ??? will that damage the paintwork ???

Don't get it on the paint, won't do it any good.
Assuming your going to reseal then just making the remaining sealer a sound base for an ethanol resistant epoxy would do the job. Rattle the crap out of it with a bag of nuts or bolts.

Acetone doesn't effect cured epoxy and it doesn't have very much effect on uncured epoxy either, except for smearing it about and slowing the curing process a bit.

Use water on uncured epoxy preferably warm with a little soap in it.

Cemtex will get the liner off, either a little inside the tank or a thin layer on the outside.. The effect is the same. You may notice slight marks on the paintwork but nothing that will make much difference.

Semtex will get the liner off !!??

I believe 'Petseal' is just fibreglass resin.

Semtex or Cemtex, not sure which is right but you won't need very much.

"Ordinary" fibreglass resin would be Polyester, which is also immune to Acetone once cured.
