S4R spark plugs

I'm gathering spares for a newly acquired S4R and am looking at plugs.

Ducati RA59GC seem to be factory fit but they are silly money. What is the correct NGK or Denso alternative? I've seen conflicting information out there so am hoping the forum hive mind will steer me right!

The bike has been decatted and has DP filter with open air box and is running a PCIII, if that would affect plug grade requirements?

In my experience with my S4 and 748 too for that matter, they just don't need regular plug replacement assuming that the Efi is set up correctly. I'm still on the original set in the S4 when I bought it 10 years ago. It is regularly serviced by Cornerspeed and I quizzed Neil and he said they were fine. So as long as it starts and runs fine I wouldn't worry. The only ignition related running issues I have had in those 10 years is a faulty coil stick and an intermittent crank sensor.

That's good to know. The bike came with a spare coilstick so that's a start.

I'd really like an owners manual but they seem to be thin on the ground.

There's very little of much value in the owners manual if you've owned a bike before but it's a nice thing to have and the wiring diagrams are useful.

The workshop manual however is probably worth hunting down or a digital copy which are usually available for sale on ebay for around £10 on CD rom. Also the Red Barons Ducati book has a lot of good info on all the various Ducati models and to a lesser extent the 748/916/996 and 2V belt twins Haynes manuals may also be a useful reference as they have a lot of info on the engines in those 4V bikes and the 2V bike design (SS/Monster). But the Red Baron book probably makes those both redundant and you can probably get one of those for about £30 give or take (it's about 3 times the size of both the Haynes books combined).

I was seeing it as a nice thing to have really.

Haven't heard of the Red Barons book before! I will get hold of one, thank you.

They're are currently £45 on Amazon so that's not is a bad deal:-

But get the workshop manual too if you can especially if you plan to do your own servicing.
