Hello from Sheffield

Hello From Sheffield! I'm thinking of getting a second hand M1200S in the near future as my next bike so I've joined this forum to find out what it is like to live with the Monster and what problems there are, how difficult it is to do home servicing / repairs / tweaks, if spares are available etc. My main concern is that I might miss the power of the Blade.

Hi and welcome SpeedoX.

1st thing is go to a dealer and arrange a decent long test ride, see how you gel.

Hello from Sheffield! As damien666 stated, Tony at SMC is very helpful as are the guys at Ducati in Lincoln. Had mine 6 yrs now and dont see myself riding anything else. Shakes my fillings out but I love the character.

Definitely take a test ride. A lot of how you'll find it depends on what you're used/comparing to.
I love the 1200S. Last year I rode one 1500km across the Dolomites to WDW, mostly pretty spirited riding with a pillion but no luggage, also took it for several solo hoons around San Marino.
My usual ride is a 1000 2 valve, so it seemed blisteringly fast although needs higher revs that the air cooled motor to get it on the boil. Handling and comfort where excellent, the brakes are epic and ABS works well, I didn't notice any TC in operation.
