Great Western Auto Italia Day 9/9
Will be taking the 888 down if anyone would like to join me and shandy/Lucky on their monnies..
Dear friends, Please accept my apologies if you have seen this message before. However, please note that this event replaces the one previously planned for 30th September in Bristol Great Western Italian Day – 9th September 2012 - Swindon The Italian AutoMoto Club will take its annual autumn meeting to the excellent Steam Museum in Swindon on 9th September. We shall be able to display our vehicles from 10am to 4pm along the front of the building – completely free of charge. The Steam museum shop, restaurant and WCs are free to enter and we have negotiated a discount for entry to the Museum – just say you are with IAMC or GWID. While the museum itself and its great location are major points of interest, there will be plenty more to do and see for adults and children. There is the close by designer shopping outlet (open from 10am), housed inside the historic railway workshop buildings and retaining many of its architectural features. There you will find many well known ‘Designer’ names plus numerous food outlets. Also nearby is the National Trust’s award winning Heelis HQ building. This will be open from 11 to 4 for access to the NT shop and café. There will be a Farmers’ Market from 10 am situated between Heelis and the Outlet buildings. The format will be the successful and informal one used at previous incarnations of GWID: See our Archive for details of these events. There is no need to book, simply turn up with your Italian car, scooter or motorcycle and just chat, look at the other exhibits and visit the attractions. If you have to attend in or on a non-Italian, please use the Outlet Centre car parks. Access will be via Kemble Drive and Fire Fly Avenue (use SN2 2EY but turn RIGHT at the end of the oval at Fire Fly Avenue) and we shall be using the area marked 'No Parking' in red on this map. There will be marshals to assist you and we look forward to your joining us on Sunday, September 9th. Please Note: This event replaces the one previously planned for 30th September in Bristol.
