Potential Monster owner

Evening, all.

I've had a mix of bikes over the years (Bandit, ZZR, 1100GS x2, ZX7R) and have the opportunity to buy a new bike, and always loved Monsters. Recently test rode an 1100 Evo, which was fantastic (review here) but am also looking at some other bikes next week (Triumph Speed Trip and maybe a BMW).

Currently own a 1999 BMW 1100GS which is about to be cleaned and serviced within an inch of it's hard-ridden life.

If I buy an Evo, I shall be around here quite a lot, posting many, many photos and generally taking the ****. If I don't, I'll be buggering off to a Triumph or BMW forum

An evo will sure look better than the GS, can't vouch for the backdrop though. Hope you've got a garage round the back...

Ditch the GS... grrr the only real GS in my eyes is an old Suzuki!!

Coolio. Where abouts?

It gets enough stick, but the typical Essex is mostly in the South. Basildon, Romford etc etc. Essex countryside is lovely in my experience, especially the middle/Northern bit.

Close enough to London to pop down and have a blast round (used to live there), but also five minutes ride and you're in the middle of rolling countryside on some pretty awesome roads.

I know I know I should but it would include motorways..not keen on the straight stuff..are you guys doing Tunbridge Wells on the 31st?

No problem matey

I don't often go out with other riders, and don't often ride over the weekends as most of the riders I come across are what I would call '****ers'. Screaming through villages, stupid overtakes, tailgating etc etc.

Call me a grouchy old man (I'm 27 and a BMW owner...) but I tend to ride alone

Would be nice to attend a meet, though. Did I see an Italian night at the Ace mentioned somewhere?

Clacton way... I double booked should have been at local bike show

I potter about on my own as I am a bit wobbly and slow.... captain slow..
As long as I get from A-B thats fine by me

We are all different in our riding.

Aye, I tend to find people are either dog slow and frustrating, or they're irresponsible idiots and frustrating. I've only been on two group rides in 7 years that matched the conditions and mix of bikes perfectly, and both were led by the same bloke. And both were from South to North Wales.
