Buzzbomb lives on in a lot of our bikes, I think. My S4R scheme started off as a set of white bodywork that I bought off Geoff.

I like what you've done there, Colin, the Corse scheme is one of my favourites and is one of the few that, in my opinion, works well with the red frame. Also goes well with your wheels too.

Re the tank grilles, It's a pity I didn't know of your plans earlier because, when I ordered my latest carbon edged grilles, they came with black mesh, which I popped out and replaced with the standard silver. I'd have happily given you the redundant black ones!

You're certainly spoilt for choice when it comes to colour schemes now!

I found 2 black but I think 1100s were black anyhow. Cut a second pair and templates.

I like those. The "knurling" pattern is similar to my Domino grips but with the added splash of colour. Nice - a good match with the Corse bodywork.

I thought I was done with buying bits for the monster, but in the garage the other day the standard finish on the bars was starting to bother me . I would have gone with a silver coloured bar and riser combo, but couldn't really find any so went with black Rizoma parts . They are beautifully made and packaged . I ordered them form Calsport and they arrived within two days which was great considering we had 6 inches of snow at the time ! . I went with a 60mm riser and the sportline bars, these are virtually identical to the standard bars, couldn't go any higher as the cables won't stretch that far .

I was going to wait a while for the weather to warm up, but couldn't help myself so fitted them today . I've never changed a set of bars before, but the old ones all came apart easy enough and it was all fairly straight forward . You have to drill the holes in the new bars for the locating pins for the switchgear which was no big drama . The left side was simple, but the throttle side for some reason took ages to fiddle about with so nothing hit the tank on full lock, barely a mm spare . I guess it's the switchgear cube pushing against the throttle housing against the brake lever . I'd like the brake lever a couple of mm more downwards but then everything fouls .
I'm really pleased with how they look, a definite improvement! .

That's a very nice view from the saddle, Colin.

With only a mm of clearance at the tank, you might want to wind out the lock stops a fraction. The risers are rubber mounted and if you knock the bars while at full lock, there may be enough flex for the switches to hit the tank.

Oh, and make sure your clutch and brake are still firm before you test ride it - there's always a danger of getting air in the system if the master cylinders are left to dangle.

Thanks for the tip about the lock stops, I wasn't aware you could do that. Is it simple to do?

Very simple - it's just a screw and locknut each side. Just add a drop of threadlock when tightening up.
