I may want them too when I see yours. I'll have to convince myself its extra unnecessary weight?
I had assumed the clips came with the kits but just looked at the Samco website ST2 £115 for hoses and £31 for clips exc. VAT and Postage!

Right its been a while so here goes the finished paint work (powder coating to follow). I decided for a change (only a minor one) so I got rid of the red stripe around the side of the tank:
The front mudguard was shortened and de-seamed to tidy it up: Yorkie

Where did you get the decals btw. Image Works ( Graham ) does a very good job with the Cagiva early ones. I bought some other on ebay that were wrong font and colour and size and he even told me 916 are not same size. Never knew the detail like that.

Its been about three months since I have done anything on the Monster project so here goes.
I picked up the valve, cam and clutch covers from BSA Body Repairs in Porton, I really like the gold: My home made Corse style clutch case: My extreme home made clutch case: This is how far I got today, almost a complete bottom end: I have decided to use the extreme case to start with this build: Yorkie

Today was going so well, the heads went together like a dream I am still liking the gold on battleship grey. The trick alloy pulleys are about the only bit of the lightened material that will be on show:
After this it was on to the horizontal barrel ............ up until the 'oil-scraper' ring snapped. So gutted as this has now stopped the build and we were looking like getting the engine in the frame today ...... Oh well, anyone know where I can get a ring set for an ST2?? Cheers, Yorkie

What a result. I looked far and wide to try and get some piston rings and most of the prices were £130 and up.
I looked at pistons on eBay for the 1000DS and ST2 and most too far away or really expensive. I then got a PM from a member from Ducati Up North would was willing to part with a pair of pistons for free. One was complete with rings and the other without. What a generous bloke and he would not take any payment at all. On with the project in the next few weeks. As a side line I have also been offered a set of Ducati Performance pistons for £110 delivered, even better. Yorkie

Buy that man a drink or 3! Glad you're back on track. Maybe I'm thinking of another forum but I'm sure I read somebody else had broke al ring too recently?
Are the DP pistons forged ones?
