I can say that fitting tyres to forged rims by hand is so easy

Wheels are on but still waiting for Caliper spacers to suit 330mm discs.

Doesn't matter to me. Big pics look odd on the ipad but get auto resized when I'm on my home PC (with 3 x 24" screens )

I used to run 2 but don't have desk space now

I found the same thing exactly, somewhat to my surprise.
Cable ties were the magic ingredient, in my case.

The really trick thing, as I also discovered, is to first find the balance point of the bare wheel and then to position the tyre so that its heavy spot coincides with the light spot on the wheel, thus reducing the amount of balance weight required.
This is quite easy if you use the cable ties to keep the tyre loose on the rim.
Slightly surprisingly, the position of the valve does not seem to have any significant effect at all, at least it didn't on my wheel.

I managed to get both tyres on without using any levers (and it's not warm outside)
plenty of tyre lube and brute force but didn't want to damage rims

They have a really deep well compared to cast rims and a really good finish so they just kept sliding as I pushed as the soap stays in the machining marks and keeps it lubed.

have saved approx. 1.7 kg on front wheel and discs.
and 1.25 kg on rear wheel which is more than I expected as the evo rims are lighter than the
796/1100/S Enkei/Marchesinis to start with.

1100 evo Enkei/marchesini 10 spoke rims inc bearings and spacers
Front 4.423 kg
Rear 5.036 kg

OZ Piega forged Rims inc bearings & spacers
Front 3.361 kg
Rear 3.775 kg

Evo Disc 320 mm is 1.306 kg each
1098S 330 mm disc is 1.058 kg each

and another 100 grams saving with ti disc bolts.

The Ohlins forks where 1.4 kg lighter than the Marzocchi forks on the Evo too

So should feel nice when I finally get my caliper spacers I payed next day delivery 4 days ago for

it's part of the link pipe kit I bought to get my Akrapovic to fit.

Took some more pics today down at Ipswich Waterfront.

But sun went behind clouds and lots of building going on near Issacs so had to take pics into sun.
Not very good really and too much bloody salt on the roads (not been a frost yet!) WTF are they putting salt down???

Love the bike. I have just bought an Ohlins rear shock for my bike and wove red if you found it made a good bit of diffrence when you changed yours ??

Cheers cobra. I am just trying to figure out spring rates and if the stock spring from the 1100s is going to work for me at around 95kg as I find the tankard Evo spring far too hard. Getting all sorts of differing info on the Internet.
