D'yer know what? I'm gonna have to redact my comments regarding the red wheel tape because I actually think it looks ok on that bike, with those wheels. They are really nice wheels anyway so they didn't really need it, but it works anyway. I would have just gone with the 'Marchesini Forged' stickers if I wanted to show off, and why not if it's correct? So I take it back.

there’s a world of difference between factory painted pinstripes and some bits of tape from ebay that almost line up

Looks great. Out of interest what did you use to do it materials wise? I’m tempted to go do the same. I sprayed up the two frame plugs and two seat cowl bolts the other day with some matte black stove paint I had just to make them a bit better looking

I used some 800 grit wet and dry to lightly rub down the shell. Then two coats of Halfords grey primer. Then about four light coats of Halfords satin black. I didn't lacquer it as I didn't want it shiny.
