Darkness - the guy Steve Hillary could be a great shout, checked out the links there, as well as moto rapido he also owned Dr Desmo that I have the Dyno print out for the bike from 2004, will definitely give him a call or possibly an email might be better to put down all the info.

Moto Rapido didn't have the facilities to reflash ECUs back in 2004, which probably explains the Power Commander. I had a PC III on my S2R 1000 and Wilf mapped it for me in 2007. They didn't have the ability to reflash until a couple of years later, if I remember correctly.

Steve Hillary replied to my email, he does remember the bike and did work on it but only really offered the advice to get it remapped.
But the main development - I got speaking to the original owner of the bike, Jim Allwood, who was more than helpfull putting together some of missing pieces, he used the bike for a track bike and spent a serious amount of money on it, but I still can't be sure how much (if any) of the engine internal are as per the spec I got worth the bike, what he did confirm was it had Corse throttle bodies with twin injectors, they have definitely been removed, if the 'G' spec cams are still in there no amount of remapping will get the required amount of fuel in there. The bike is currently with torquetronix, a local guy over here in Northern Ireland that specialises in ECU mapping, so will hopefully find out soon enough if it can be re-mapped to suit the current state of tune. Progress update:
The bike is still with Torquetronix over here in Northern Ireland (and has been since 21st June) but the ECU is with CJS (Bristol), reading back through the thread, Slob had suggested CJS as a potential place to sort out the ECU so hopefully it's in the right place. CJS have stated the ECU is no use (parts missing and not accepting being flashed) and he doesn't know how the bike was even running so I'm now looking for an ECU, have been told it must be a 59M, if anyone has a 59M they would be willing to sell - send me a message, I have put a post up in the 'I want' section also. Has been a frustrating summer with some decent weather and no bike to ride but hopefully things can start moving in the right direction if I can pick up an ECU. Thanks Davey |
