Reminds me of the MV, I quite like it. One of the things I don't like are the stupidly short front mudguard.

Specs sound fun too

Will the 1200 still be available in 2021 ?

What’s with the Termignonis with the red band.... the tank decals, Seat hump and screen on the plus version reminds me of the 696/796 days.

Not sure, but looking forward to seeing one in the flesh.

My immediate reaction, on looks alone, is "yuk".
I largely agree with Kato and BRD ... It doesn't look like a monster and its so over-designed that its hard to make out what the engine is.
The super-compactness makes me think that home maintemance will be a big headache.
Of course it might ride like a beaut .. but then so does my 20yr old M750, so that's not hard to achieve.

I remember when the evo was first introduced.
I hovered around it all afternoon at the NEC show, with a stupid grin on my face.
I observed it from all angles, including lying on the floor and gazing upward.
I suspect I would walk straight past this new monster without even realising what it was.

Maybe it'll grow on me .. after all, the 1200 did.
But I doubt it.

The engine area looks a mess and the rest is a bit meh.

Sorry Ducati, take off the stickers and you wouldn't know what it was or who the manufacturer was.

You could stick with a trellis and still get a styling disaster

2021 SV650

OMG what has happened to ducati. i know everyone hates change but this is a change too much.

i was never a fan of the newer shape over the classic monster but did like the Evo's and could appreciate them as they still were characteristically monster and kept a lot of the styling and lines that this has none of.
i almost wish they had just called it something other than a monster and bought out what the original monster was born from. e.g. something like a pani v2 engine in a 950 supersport trellis frame.
this lightness and more feel from flex when cranked fully over isnt what the monster is about. Showing pictures of it on the track shows the lack of understanding of their potential customers.

the new supersport is the only model they seem to have made more appealing recently even the panigales have become uglier in my eyes.

18KG lighter than the 821 is a good stat . The headlight and double stacked exhaust remind me of my old MV Brutale . Like others have said, the engine area looks a bit of a mess, but I guess thats what happens with water cooling? Although saying that the Triumph speed twin is water cooled and that is a fantastic looking bike/engine with lots of open space . Swingarm looks a bit like my street 765rs? Have they just pinched everyone elses ideas and thrown them in the pot? . I guess my 796 has now gone up in value !

Absolutely awful in many ways . No originality. I get things move on but it doesn’have to be at the expense of style and character. It just looks like it could be anything - including Chinese. With all the ore launch feedback manufacturers collect I can’t believe anyone would have said this looks good. Ducati have lost their way on styling for some time - really sad. MV manage dynamic bikes which make your heart flutter - why can’t Ducati ?

I don't mind the look of it but I suspect it's more suited to the vertically incompetent. Pity they don't do a bigger engine though.

There are usually more options later.

I spent a while looking at the competition, and if you can bring yourself to ignore the words ‘Ducati’ and ‘Monster’ on the tank, it’s a winner. The top of the range MV Brutale looks nice... how much?!

Undecided at the moment. Don't like the loss of the trellis frame from an aesthetic POV but I do prefer the return to a straight (and under the engine) front exhaust pipe/header as I was never keen on the 'curly' pipes running along the side of the bike.

All pretty much irrelevant to me as I'm not in the market now or in the foreseeable future for a new bike anyway.

I like the indicators, and I like.......
Nope, just the indicators.

It's just a mush of black plastic. How would you verbally describe it to someone? With difficulty!

I'm all for change and breaking the bonds of tradition but this just looks awful despite whatever it may ride like.

The indicators are one of my biggest hates.
