My first race was a real eye opener- 2012, Easter weekend, unseasonally good weather, a hired van, a trusty tent and a mate along for moral support.
Looking around the paddock and thinking to myself 'It all looks a bit serious but I'll be alright I'm a reasonably quick road rider'. First practice was enough to make me re-think that- racing is COMPLETELY different and only those that have had a go will understand properly.

It is also fantastic fun (when things stay the right way up or don't break), incredibly addictive and possibly the best thing I have ever done on two wheels.
Ssssssh Flip, I was hoping he'd get it out of his system! See some of you at Cadwell if my nerves will stand it!

Flip , and the others that have given it a go make a very good point.
A trackday, is not like a race day.

Would you mind explaining that to the retards I was duffed up by at Brands, Cadwell and Rockingham last year.

Only they seem to have a different idea of what constitutes a 'fun' trackday

Oh that's easy blast up behind a slow coach and tuck right underneath them on the apex of the corner

for any one that was thinking of going to see the DD and other racing this year... don't bother

Hottrax, the race meeting organisers have gone bust

Looks like the DD committee are trying to sort a few grids with other organisers for this year, and then a full season next.

For sale: Ducati 600ss. One careful owner.

That is proper rubbish- does that mean all paid up entry fees have been lost?

As Albie says, I am sure something will be done to save the series so don't sell up just yet.

Or you could always disguise it as a Pantah and go classic racing

And breathe :-)

DD sorted, there will be 3, maybe 5 meetings this year and DD will have a new home next year, so don't go selling the 600ss just yet Jonzi ;-)

A good friend of mine was stung as he paid for the year and not by credit card but by debit card, but all hope not yet lost as a claim has been launched by his bank.

More details to come :-)

That's one of the funniest things I've ever read.

I almost bought one a few months back before the season started, quite glad I didn't now given the news, then again sounds like it'll sort itself out one way or another with other clubs.

All sorted now, next race looks like July, so plenty of time to sort a bike out, do your acu course etc 😉

That will be easier said than done if a certain CB is still involved as most clubs won't even talk to him Hotrax were about the only option last time
