Proper job, Albie.
And a lovely, bright, spring day for its first little trundle.
What could be better.
She looks resplendent.

You mean our grumpy cat. Yes she came outside for entertainment and support. She also comes out as new kitten terrorises her

Could be a 'burning bush'? That's symbolic of course.

Much to the efforts of Luddite its its having to be plan B for the oil level badge on this now purchased 916 it says casing. Thought they were green/brown but the badge looks decent at least and casing just needs a clean up for resale.

Not 916, if black then much earlier I would say, but then I might be wrong.

I'd tend to agree, early 900SS, or 4v 851/888 maybe?

Better to go with a 996: you can't beat cc's.

No progress on mine as life seems to be getting in the way lately.

916 not only has green casing but there is no oil level badge on them either just a cast upper and lower line. Probably because when the fairing's fitted you can see the window (only) through a hole in the fairing?

Not sure about the black crankcases (I know some Supersports had black engines)

but 916s did have the oil level plate at least until 1998.

It may be that the plate was omitted from the 996 onwards?

I hope he doesn't try to ride that Super Sport, there's a bolt missing from the forward torque rod mount plate!
