Jeez...! those bloody curtains...
I know they are well over thirty years old, but the cobwebs are newer though..

The colour, as you probably guessed is as close to the Brembo Gold in the disc carriers as I can get.
It is BMW Solid Gold. 859, and manages to look a different shade from any angle.

Thanks for the compliments Utopia, and the tip with the airbox drain..Might try that.

Sometimes an idea seems quite good until you begin to execute it..

But I had my doubts when more and more masking tape went on.

There's no doubt that it looked very silly all masked up, but I went ahead with the idea any way.

Luckily I got away with it and got a pleasing result.

Thanks for the heads up Darren.

To be honest I was tempted, but I must be very carefull now as money is running out and I still need to do the seat, the clutch and all the brake pads, so it's a matter of priorities.

I also need to get the bike back together and see how the new colours all look together.
The theme is Gold and Silver and I need to get the balance of that right in my own eye.
It's for that reason that i did not strip the bike and refinish the tank and frame this year.
I need to digest and savour what I have done so far to see where to go next...Bit like doing a painting I suppose, you have to know when to stand back and say...No more paint you'll spoil it.

Yes, but look at the PRICE !!!!
Under £20 delivered at the moment, with 2hrs or so left to go.
If it goes for anything like that price you won't be spending money, you'll be saving it.

Nah... I would have had to pay about £50 for them, besides I already have sucky tubey things that work. Brake pads are more important.

I think I prefer the softer Gold of the paint to the hard orangey Gold of the anodising...But in the right place of course..Already got three different Golds on the bike and I don't want it looking like a Chrismas tree...Thanks for the encouragement though...

Maybe a silver one would look better with the gold covers anyway?

Progress.

I managed to get the rear end back together this weekend, and lowered her back down onto her own wheels for the first time since early December....So the temptation to get her into the open air for a couple of shots was too great.

A little way to go yet, but getting there slowly..

Enjoying my best freind on the road lots now.

Tank and frame can wait till next Winter for thier re-finish, seat cover should not be long now, but not ashamed of how she looks for the moment.

Discovered a warped disc on yesterdays run, so that'll be the next job...Doh! "In every life a little rain must fall".... (Led Zeppelin)
