Thanks for the compliments Crust.

Lodger, you have a pm.

I've often thought it's more trouble to hold the second class mail back, but then it probably takes second place if there is a lot of mail, when first class would get priority?
Anyway I think second class rocks..

Hi Gary, mine arrived safe and sound today, it looks a quality piece and the packaging, as other have mentioned, was very well done.

Many thanks.

Glad it reached you okay without getting snagged up in customs, just a week to travel less distance than to Scotland too!

Thanks for the compliments, they're a bit tricky to wrap up with the sharp brackets poking out, hence the bit of wood.
Are you going to paint yours Yellow?

Thanks Ben, I'll send you a pm.
I've only got them in naked Stainless Steel I'm afraid.
They would chemically blacken okay I imagine, but I think you would find that uneconomical to do just one unless you have a bucketful of other bits to do. I believe you can get chemical blackening kits, but not sure for Stainless?

All I can suggest is a blast of Hammerite, but I suspect that it will be prone to chipping and leaving bright spots since if it's doing its job, it will be taking knocks from stones and chippings.

I didn't think of that, but again it would have to be in a batch to be economical.

I'm not sure if the coating would try and bridge the holes in the mesh or form blobs or webs at all those little joins. I'm sure a good powder coater would know just how much to put on to make a good job?

I decided to upgrade these guards by supplying them with replacement screws in A2-70 stainless steel. We found that the original screws are quite short in the first place sometimes and are too short with the addition of just a 1.5mm thick bracket.
So, I've rectified this with the screw length fitted to the later SS models, which also hold a fairing bracket.. Sorted.

Kits now come to £31 posted, including screws and take into account postage increases.
