I do like it, but the exhausts remind me of cow bells. I assume they are so fat to accommodate catalytic converters?

[QUOTE=eonan;230382]Man what a relief! I was worried that it was going to completely blow me away...that I'd really want one. Fortunately for Ducati a lot of people do/will like it. Personally I think it looks hideous.
QUOTE] I Agree (at least from the piccies) and I hope I am in a small minority When I first saw the new shaped BMW's I thought they were horrid - BMW said it will grow on me - It didn't The lines from tank to seat don't flow like the old bike, it's lost some elegance and simplicity of line - now looks brash (cheap?) especialy the the "hybrid" frame and cans. Hopefully it looks better in the flesh and more importantly rides really well and trashes the competition cos it's so important for Ducati that this sells well. I'm now waiting to see the S4R(s) replacement and dreading it'll be along the same lines. Perhaps I'm just a grumpy old git that doesn't like change mutter mutter mutter |

Barbican, you've got enough toys already
![]() Seriously, I think if ducati continue along these lines, I'll keep my toys and when they wear out, I'll buy a couple of MVs to replace them.

Look very very similar to the new Moto Morini which came out at the end of last year (shades of copyright somewhere??)
Lots of plus's, some minus's. 80bhp is quite a fair bit, coupled with the decrease in weight from any other monster produced, will be no doubt a bike to ride at the sharp end when given its head. Better ground clearance than existing models too (so it looks, with the zaust system being moved) Power to weight, its got more buzz to it than the S4RS! I presume it will replace the 695 rather than be sold alongside it. I far prefer the look of the 695, the black tank/red frame option is stunning.
The SR range will continue much the same then? |

The hybrid frame is a thing only its designer could love, hopefully he'll be fired tomorrow and next years version will have a bolt on trellis subframe.
Dont like the footpeg hangers either, the sort of thing that Honda do. ![]() I could live with the cans though,if they were black they wouldn't stand out so much, and at least it seems to have decent brakes too! The nagging doubt I have is that swingarm. Its a doubt because I really like the S2R style monsters and that swingarm says to me its been engineered for a much more powerful bike....all the way up to the S4R's. Which makes me wonder whether this may be the template for the future monster family. I do hope not! ![]()
