This thread has been a delight to read.
Well done everyone for chipping in. Unfortunately I'm too skint to have been able to add my own contribution (I don't even have a spare fiver these days) but the spirit was willing. Maybe next time. Good luck on the day, and I'm looking forward to reading the write-up. |

For anyone interested, not only did the lad get out - in the 15 min qualifying an hour ago, he got 4th place overall on the fully subscribed grid, so is on front row
Will update how this afternoon's racing goes, as soon as I get the info However - its started to rain there.... not good |

Race 1 (of 2).
Connor started 4th on the grid, led into the 1st bend into Paddock. Missed a gear soon after & dropped to 7th.... Managed to claw his way back up to finish 4th overall - and 1st litre bike over the line (3 x 600's were in front). A ruddy good start for them there, particularly as less than 5 mins before he was due out that had to change tyres for wets & he had to use part worns. Well done to AK, Connors dad Chris - and Kato in getting both wheels swapped so quickly! Race 2 is right at the end of the day, will report back when I have news, but Connor wishes to pass on his thanks to everyone here who has helped to give him his 'ride of the year' Last edited by CK & AK; 08-09-2013 at 02:47 PM.. |

Race 2: Connor sped off the line like a ferret up a drain pipe & led them all into Paddock Hill. Unfortunately, towards the end of lap 1, the bike developed a miss-fire. Conner struggled for another lap dropping down the field, and then brought the bike into pitlane to visit Alan. Took a little while to sort out but got the bike back out there but too late to do anything as he had missed 4 laps. Big shame as could have been on course to grab a potential double for the litre class. Thats racing tho....
Many thanks to all those who helped to get Connor out there this weekend, so much appreciated He's now staying on with Alan as there is the Ducati UK trackday there over the GP track tomorrow so they can have a day chilling & watching the machinery Photos & full race write-up to come soon |

Shame that happened but that's the way it goes. I personally am mighty pleased and if I can help out again I hope to. If I have time tomorrow I will try to pop into brands again with my camera in the afternoon.
Well done to all

So much for not needing wets - we've just about managed to warm up and dry out after this afternoon's pouring rain.
It didn't stop the racing from going ahead, though, and here's a few highlights: Congratulations to Connor on a great result in the first race, shame about the mechanical failure later on in the day, but that's just one of those things that can't be helped. We had a great day anyway, hope you did too. |

Andy, many thanks for the photos (you can see Connor had a different coloured bike earlier this year, can't you - going from his leathers! )
I've tried to get AK to talk Connor into riding at the last Thundersport GB meeting in late October at Donington. We've lots AK can ebay before then (if he can bear to be parted from the 2 valve stuff!) Connor & AK were doing a race report last night whilst at Brands, hopefully its on AK's laptop, so I can edit tonight when they get home & then put up on here CK ps: Bigger UKMOC stickers needed please Slob! (you can only just see these just above the KRRTeam logo) |
