The housing went for £68 and bidding is still running on the tacho. By the time you add on the shipping for both I'm sure you got a fair deal on the combined unit. Let us know how you get on fitting it

Hi.
Got a DP tacho unit and can anyone advise on how to wire up the tacho as I have no instructions. Thanks in advance. |

Tacho unit comes with two sets of wires (each set is of one black and one yellow). Also came with a white plastic plug and a metal two pronged thingy.

Ta for the photo it goes as follows,
the two pairs of yellow and black are for the two tacho backlights, these need to be connected to the yellow and back wires in the back of the existing instrument lights (probably what the plug might be for with certain bikes). Thats the only tricky bit, the end of the bigger lead with one plug will plug in the hole on the back of the tacho, the other end needs to cable tied down the frame to near one of the ignition control units under the tank, un-plug the lead from the unit and plug into the socket on the new lead, then plug the the other one from the new lead back into the ignition unit and hey presto it should all work, Hope this helps, Cheers, Shandy |

Will give it a go tomorrow. My speedo stopped working halfway through a ride out this afternoon. Would you know how I can tell if the cable has snapped or the connectors have come loose. On first inspection, the connectors seem OK. Cheers. Iain |
