I took my DOC card when I went in June and it was indeed free, however without anything it's only 10 euros which I didn't think was too bad at all

If you only get to go round the factory and don't get to go round the museum there's a really nice book you can get
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Museo-Ducati...s=museo+ducati You can probably pick it up cheaper than amazon though |

Our tour is going to be done by Livio Lodi who apparently is quite knowledgable about its history

Not any time soon it would appear. Is the old 1-10 good experience situation.

People might want to remember that not everybody even offers visits to a live factory, including in some cases to the R&D and GP departments. Of course, sometimes these may have to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances; I only work in an investment bank and we've had to cancel intern visits when something sensitive is happening or the Fed or the big cheeses are coming in. If your trip has been spoilt by the cancellation, guess you can either claim on the travel insurance or go anyway and do something different. Or, as it seems, throw a hissy fit. Very poor show, indeed, but not from Ducati. |

From memory Livio was the curator of the Ducati Museum, during his long association/ many years with Ducati. Not sure if he still is now, but he is credited with how the Museum has evolved and was his baby. What he doesn't know, won't be worth knowing. Having met him a few years ago, he's a very knowledgeable and interesting guy. My advice to you would be to avoid offending him should you be withholding any frustrations or disappointments, you may still have about the visit to the factory. Especially as it's now all been favourably resolved.

Strange isn't it, the only time you see some names on the forum is when they're either sniping or complaining...
Still we're all different and that's what counts... |
