The mystery clip you have is it the one which is directly under the oil sight/level glassto hold the breather pipes in place.

No I have that one It sits forward as you say catches the two breathers from the front and the tank breathers from the rear.

This other clip bolts on under the lefthand fix bolt ( longer than the righthand side one please note ) under the battery box to which fits the battery earth and an earth from the loom and now an extra earth to the rear engine earthing mount.

Been gently working on the bike over a few hours each time. Nothing major but its now got two wheels and rear suspension.
Nothing is tightened up full torque just progressing in getting right bolts right hole right washers etc. Think a large footrest hanger washer or two are missing from original parts but I have 1 or 2 I can adapt possibly but not averse to donated shiney one from someone who fitted rear sets for good. 8mm hole or 10mm hole ok. Also missing a spacer presumed aluminium for the spacing to fit side stand as back hole needs to be out the thickness of the side stand plate. That needs to be a size of 30mm diameter by 8mm thick with a 10.5mm clearance hole with 0.5mm chamfers . Same as a termi spacer hi level if anyone has one knocking about spare or can turn me up one
I have a confession also as missing also is a m10 bolt x 25mm for the front side stand hole. Don't tell anyone but its now a stainless steel one possibly forever unless someone has one in steel but shiney.

The Ohlins rear shock will need a shorter pipe by 6" I figure to keep it out the way of exhaust and getting trapped in a spring coil.
Can get the bracket I need to make rough made for a good fabricated one of 2-3mm plate then.

My battery leads all fit well and the extra earth fits neatly inside the loom to rear engine earth.

Some small work has been done and some looking at diagrams and pics detailing on Stein Dinse led me to the fact that the rectifier on my bike is an aftermarket lash up trying to sell a universal one to suit all models with an adapted lead almost 2 ft too long. I have now ordered one that's the same fitment so can be fitted as neat as original.
Also ordered a brand new chain guide as the bottom of mine may decide to get chewed by a chain as its slightly rotated backwards so a OEM new one is fine.
Now the piece that's rocking horse poo allegedly I nearly got two of by mistake and have a pretty mint full early side stand coming complete with wiring cable which was missing on mine. I saw a black one first made an offer then saw the silver one also made offer nearly had to buy both.

So the rectifier is here tomorrow and will fit in the original place and not at an angle like the other and wiring will fit along the rail neat.
I fitted the vacuum pump tonight but had to swap mounts over and confusion on pipe work that looks original over routing it. I may well buy complete new hose and clips and route it better as the lower pipe is about 10mm from barrel.
Choke cable also confused by the route as cable is really longer than needed imho but is tidy and works although doesn't seem to have a stop/set in any position.
The ohlins in position now with bracket but had no response from Kais on email about another hose or re gas remote.
Cambelt covers now fitted back and the clutch too and that sides looking nice.

I got a new chainguide because mine on the lower edge where the allen bolt goes is splayed
downwards so may catch on the chain. Decent enough but a new one is not expensive at £15.

That's a suicide stand at the moment Albie.

The plate part of the return Spring catches on central extension from the pivot bolt head. That provides a fulcrum so that the spring tension flips the stand up when the weight is taken off it.

I find those a bigger liability than riding off with the stand down, but it can easily be modified by cutting and grinding the face of the pivot bolt head so that the return spring slides over it and Spring tension pulls the stand forward instead once the Spring goes over centre.

You need to cut the back of the bplt off so it sits flush. Had the same on my 748. Crap idea easily solved.

I have to say firstly a big thanks to Darkness for generously giving me an option to swap cambelt covers for an original condition set and secondly giving me also a freshly plated cable/guide stay missing from mine. Still even when fitted whether that's correct placement direction or what is guides where.
I repainted my left footrest hanger a bit and whilst lacquering also did the carbon side covers.

Suicide stand is fitted now but possibly needs painting black if I could undo the nut. I don't want to shear it or ruin hexagon so silver is fine. Connected now to switch.

Stein Dinse parts due this Tuesday last time from them hopefully but very good service by them.

Slave cylinder due this week correct one for year.

Ordered new copper washers for whole bike plus spares so lines can been tightened up and filled with fluids and bled.
Ordered the aluminium crush washers for the inlet manifolds

Oh I ended up with new Ducati oil cooler rubber dampers even though I had some new other non standard ones slightly smaller diameter.

Oops just bought a pretty much pristine swingarm early 1994 low mileage USA bike. Got it cheaper than advertised but postage is dear. Much nicer than mine and I was always hankering for a better one as mine has exhaust bolt scars and marks I cannot remove without welding or polishing losing its original finish.
