seems that the red 'engine warning light' is the oil light and should stay on until the motor fires up.. as I've just been informed...duh!

I stripped the 'kill' switch and starter button on handlebars and cleaned and dielectric greased it all - now the engine turns over on the battery with a weak /yellow spark at the plugs but no start!
At this stage I'm attempting to check for injector signal with a noid light but not there yet.. that should tell me if the ECU is corrupt and not sending a signal..no? but will that tell me anything else - it could be a failed crank sensor unit as well.. couldn't it??

If it’s got a weak spark your battery is likely either dead/dying battery or your plugs are done.... try new plugs and a charged battery.... and check your R/R as above.

Yea, if you're getting sparks then that would suggest that the ECU and Immobilizer may be ok and its just low on juice like Fuzzy said.

If the battery voltage drops below 9V then the ECU will not work properly and will shut down.
